An essential part of the graduate studies experience is to apply leadership and management skills to planning and carrying out the practical experience. In MGT600 Career Strategies, students reflect upon their competencies, goals, and preferences; clarify their career objectives; and then form a professional image. Ultimately, students take personal responsibility for finding their own practical experience and this course ensures they have the necessary tools to do so. Emphasis is placed on effectively communicating strengths and skills through professional documents (CV and Cover letter), using social media to enhance networking, honing research strategies, and practicing business acumen when interacting with experienced professionals.
