This assignment requires you to review your presence in social media with a particular focus on LinkedIn. Read through the “Social Media” checklist carefully; if you have many connections on LinkedIn already, be certain you disable the notification feature before you begin updating so you can set your new profile completely before people see it. Follow the checklist to cleanup your presence wherever you use social media. Once you are ready to “go live,” request a connection to me on LinkedIn.

Assignment & Procedure
The “elevator pitch” is modeled after a sales presentation: a line of talk that attempts to persuade someone to buy a product or service, using a planned presentation strategy. Reflecting upon your FIRO, your dossier, CV, and cover letter, prepare your own 60 second pitch that summarizes your value proposition. You are the product. You have 60 seconds. What will you say?

Your elevator pitch will be videotaped in class. Your pitch is assessed based upon input from peers, the instructor and your own self-assessment, using the rubric, MGT 600 Elevator Pitch Evaluation Form in moodle.

Assignment 8: Interviews Media due 11 Nov

Assignment & Procedure
This assignment requires you to practice your interview skills. Over a few weeks, you will organize and carry out 4 interviews: a practice video interview, a mock interview, and 2 other interviews that can be either informational interviews or mock interviews. You are responsible for finding professionals with whom to interview and defining the type of interview. You can access the Franklin University Alumni database to find persons who may be working in a field that interests you or live in a geographical area that interests you. For each interview, complete an “interview report” and ensure that, for the mock interview, your interviewer completes the mock interview evaluation form.

- At least 2 internal (within Franklin community, one video, one mock)
and 2 external interviews have been conducted
- An interview report is submitted with 24
hours of the interview and Mock Evaluation when applicable
- Reports are publishable
