The natural world has been a constant source of observation and inspiration for artists. Alongside an increasing ecological consciousness, a variety of ethically and socially engaged art practices have emerged. This course will look at the changing narratives and perception of nature through the history of landscape art, land art, environmental art and eco-feminist art. Students will explore productions from western and non-western practitioners who use a wide range of mediums such as photography, sculpture and performance.
