This information is to support any member of the Franklin Switzerland community who has experienced, witnessed, or learned of suspected sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, sexual harassment, or a bias incident on campus or involving members of the Franklin community.

For emergency assistance, please call the Franklin Emergency Number: +41 79 211 4689 or contact other emergency contacts for assistance and support. The RA on duty will be able to assist you. Their protocol is to call the University Counselor for sexual assault related incidents. If you are uncomfortable telling the RA what happened you can ask them to contact the University Counselor directly. The counselor can make sure that you are medically safe, can accompany you to the hospital or to the doctor, and can translate for you. Your information can remain confidential with the counselor or you can choose to file a formal police report and/or make a report to the Franklin Judicial Co-Chairs who will determine if the case should go to a Judicial hearing panel.

You can make a report using one of the options below. Your report will be read during office hours. To make a Title IX report, please contact Rebecca Mills, Title IX Coordinator at: titleixcoordinator@fus.edu or Tel:+1-802-363-6791. Her office hours are on Mondays and by appointment. Her office is located on the first floor of the North Campus Villa.

Individuals who would like more information or reporting options for sexual misconduct or bias incidents are encouraged to use the options below:

Students also have the option to make a report directly to the local police and/or to seek confidential support from the University Counselor or an off-campus specialist not affiliated with Franklin. Regardless of whether or not a person chooses to report, we want to ensure you are safe in your situation.

In addition, there are support options available on campus to students, including changes in class schedules (when possible) or housing arrangements, support with academic issues related to an incident, and assistance in receiving health and counseling resources.
A student is NOT required to provide additional information about the incident or participate in a University investigation in order to receive these services. Our primary goal is to help, and we will respect the student’s decision to share, or not share, any aspect of the situation with us. Students can contact the Title IX Coordinator to access support resources.

In Ticino, during office hours (08:30–17:00, working days), 142 calls are handled by the Service for Assistance to Victims of Crime (SLAV). Outside office hours and on public holidays, the response is guaranteed by the Ticino Cantonal Federation of Ambulance Services (FCTSA). The FCTSA is a center of expertise with qualified staff, operating around the clock to the highest professional standards.

It is important to emphasize that the 142 number is not an emergency number. It does not include call geolocation and does not allow the direct dispatch of emergency response services. In the event of immediate danger, you should contact the Police (117) or the emergency medical service (144) directly.

The 142 number complements the services already in place, such as shelters (Casa delle Donne, Casa Armònia), Telefono Amico (143) and Pro Juventute (147), strengthening the network of protection and counselling available to victims. The service guarantees confidentiality, anonymity and privacy.
